this. that. and the other thing.

I’m here! I am. I’ve been meaning to just sit down already and write a blog post for weeks now. But every time I walk into my office, attempt to gather some thoughts or share some images, I end up walking right back out again. Closing the door on the obligation and choosing instead to spend those free moments reading, taking long walks, getting myself back to yoga. I’m in a strange state of restlessness at this season in my life and for whatever it’s worth, I’m tossing around some crazy and grandiose ideas that are rolling around in my brain, that make it a challenge to sit still in any capacity for too long. And this heat… oh I’m so glad the heat came back. But it makes me reckless. Makes me teeter on the edge of making very permanent , life changing decisions on a whim. The kind that are brilliant in August but probably ridiculous come September. The kind that make no sense at all at 30 but that I know I wouldn’t regret in the least when I’m 60.

And I’ve been taking pictures here and there for myself. Just letting them pile up on my camera without so much as importing them or flipping back through. I’ve been learning the beauty of revisting images after some time has passed. Seeing how I connect differently to the time and place and person I was when taking them. Seeing how they can draw me back to things I forgot I remembered. Part of my restlessness and wanderlusting soul has had me searching for what’s beyond Madison and Wisconsin – the what’s next and the what else. And while the timing isn’t right now {and may never be} to make that leap, I’ve been feeling the need to reconnect myself to this place that I call home.

Regularly scheduled posting to resume next week…. xoxo.
