ten-twentyfive-twelve.

We slept with the windows open last night and it was kind of amazing. My brain knows it’s not spring but this week if just felt so much like spring that I am trying hard not to think that maybe we just skipped over all the winter gloom and jumped right back to the upswing. I am going to be in for a rude awakening when we don’t break 50 degrees for the next, oh say, five months.

I’m praying that this winter is as mild as last year because usually Brent and I take a long vacation every February, which gives me a chance to thaw out, get my Vitamin D levels back up and eat fresh fruit and veggies while enjoying a slice of someone else’s summer. But this year I was selfish and wanted to celebrate my thirtieth birthday somewhere awesome. And thenon a lazy Saturday a few months back I watched an hour of Giada eating her way across the Greek isles, and, I mean, it was pretty much over after that. So this year I’m going to have to suck it up and deal with whatever winter gives us {except for a few small trips here and there} clear through next spring.

I hate wishing any part of my life to move faster than it already seems to be…especially these last six months of my twenties. But really, I kind of can’t wait now that we’ve booked our flights {entirely on miles – whoop!}. Our current / tentative itinerary is :

Istanbul -> Cappadocia -> Oludeniz -> Chios -> Santorini -> Athens

If you have been and know of any must sees or must eats {!!} or think we’re missing something completely amazing, please leave a comment or email me at : meganelisephotography {at} gmail {dot} com and fill me in.

And because no post would be complete without at least a few pictures, here are some we took with our underwater camera while scuba diving last year in South Africa. I completely forgot we even took these…as in the memory card hasn’t left the camera in the eight months since we’ve been home. The coloring is kind of weird and my buoyancy control is not at all what it should be for underwater photography but hey…anyway, they’re kind of fun.

Katie Dougals - I came across our book on the mediterranean a few weeks ago and i set it aside to give to you. We’ll be in Madison this Sunday and next Saturday… if you’re around I can drop it off. The only place on your list that we’ve been is Athens. Very cool. My favorite is Split, Croatia. :)

Ester - So unbelievably jealous! I can’t wait to see your pictures from this trip. Greece has always been at the top of my (long) list of places I must go.
